Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you use our website and buy from SpectacuLens.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the website and to all supplies by SpectacuLens ([Registered company name to be confirmed], registration number [Company registration number to be confirmed]), of 12 Umgeni Road, Emmarentia, 2195, South Africa ("SpectacuLens", "we", "us").

By using this website, sending an enquiry or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or place orders.

2. Trade customers only

SpectacuLens is a wholesale supplier. We sell only to registered optometrists, optical practices, dispensing opticians and other optical professionals. We do not sell to members of the public.

We may ask for proof of your practice or professional registration (for example, HPCSA registration) before opening an account or accepting an order, and we may decline any application or order.

3. Website information

Product information, images and descriptions on this website are for general guidance. Colours, finishes and specifications may differ slightly from the actual products, and ranges may change without notice.

The website does not show prices and does not take online orders. Nothing on the website is a binding offer to sell.

4. Enquiries, quotes and orders

You may send an enquiry by phone, email or the website enquiry form. We will reply with product availability and a quote.

Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote, or 14 days if no period is stated, and depend on stock being available. An order is only binding once we confirm it in writing or deliver the goods.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT will be added where applicable.

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, new customers pay before delivery (cash on order). Approved account customers pay within 30 days of statement. We may charge interest on overdue amounts at the rate allowed by law, and may suspend supply to overdue accounts.

Ownership of goods stays with SpectacuLens until we have been paid in full. Risk passes to you on delivery.

6. Delivery

We deliver to the address you give us, by courier or by our own arrangements. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Please check deliveries on arrival and tell us about any shortage or visible damage within 2 working days.

7. Returns and faulty goods

If goods are faulty, damaged in transit or not what you ordered, tell us within 7 days of delivery. We will repair, replace, credit or refund the goods once we have inspected them.

Goods returned for any other reason are accepted only with our prior written approval, must be unused and in their original packaging, and may carry a handling fee.

Lenses that have been cut, edged, glazed or altered cannot be returned unless faulty. Manufacturing defects on frames are covered according to the warranty we tell you about at the time of sale.

Where the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 applies to your business, nothing in these terms limits your rights under that Act.

8. Intellectual property

The SpectacuLens name and logo, our in-house brands (LeMond, Chameleon, Kliq, Look, Lookout and Abstrak), their logos, and all content on this website belong to SpectacuLens or its licensors.

Customers may use our brand names and supplied images to promote SpectacuLens products in their practice. Any other use needs our written permission.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, SpectacuLens is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or business. Our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for the goods concerned.

Optical professionals remain responsible for the clinical suitability, dispensing and fitting of products for their patients.

10. Use of the website

You may not misuse the website, try to gain unauthorised access to it, or use it for any unlawful purpose. We do not guarantee that the website will always be available or free of errors.

Links to other websites are for convenience only; we are not responsible for their content.

11. Electronic communications

In line with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, you agree that emails and other electronic messages between us count as written communication.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You agree to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate's Court or High Court in Johannesburg.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies from the date shown above.
